Barista Basics


Product Description

Whether you are a home espresso enthusiast or a budding barista this three-hour training course introduces you to the basics of the espresso making, commercial and home machinery and the process of creating a great cup of coffee.


Within this course you will learn:

  • Basic roasting- A small introduction where you watch and learn about our green bean sourcing, roasting technique and profiling.
  • Coffee care - Understand correct ways to store coffee and keep your coffee fresh.
  • Espresso Making - Learn and practice making espresso whilst understanding the variables needed to determine optimal extraction rate and flavour. Includes detail about grinder technology, espresso machinery, tamping technique and more.
  • Milk Texturing - Begin learning how to texture milk using a two part methodology. This introduction allows you to understand basic milk chemistry, and begin making milk for a variety of milk based espresso drinks.
  • Machinery Cleaning & Maintenance -Understand and practice cleaning an espresso machine, grinder and associated tools.

Please note: Barista Basics requires a minimum of four participants to run. Although this is a non-refundable item, you can transfer your chosen course date within 1 week before.
